I’ve just ordered a couple of bits online and dropped by the drugstore the other day, so I wanted to show it to you guys in a haul.
I’m so excited to finally own Sleek makeup, and it’s actually as good as people say! I decided to buy the most recommended products so that I’d be sure it wouldn’t disappoint. And now, I’m really happy I didn’t waste my money since I usually hate online shopping. I only tried them out after taking photos since I didn’t want to ruin the perfection of being untouched.
Now, let’s get into the haul, shall we? :)
(L-R: Chantilly, Guipure, Crochet)
1. Sleek Blush By Three in LACE
I swatched it on my hand and I was pretty much shocked at how pigmented it was. The texture of the blush itself isn’t as velvety as I wanted it to be, but it’s definitely not chalky like other blushes. When I tried it on my cheeks, the matte shades looked so pretty! Guipure, the more shimmery one at the centre, was mostly shimmer on my skin but it looks nice as a gold highlight. It reminds me of Benefit Coralista or NARS Orgasm (although it’s a lot more shimmery). It’s not like chunky glitter though, since it gave my cheeks a really glowy sheen. The matte ones on the other hand, I much prefer. Chantilly reminds me a bit of MAC’s Fleur Power Blush, too. I’m really impressed with these blushes, and they’re the best I’ve ever tried in terms of pigmentation. I’ve obviously haven’t tried this enough to know how good it really is, but I can say that it took quite a while for it to fade, and it didn’t end up looking patchy like some blushes do on me. This is such a great buy, I can’t wait to keep using it!
2. Sleek Contour Kit in Medium
I suspected that this would be just as pigmented as the blushes, and I was right. I’ve seen this loads of times before, but I was still kind of hoping it would be more cool-toned than it actually is. On the cheeks, it looks really good though! I guess it doubles as a bronzer as well as a contour shade. The texture is pretty much the same, but again, I haven’t tested this out enough. I’m glad I chose the medium shade since the light version had a more pinky highlighter, but this one has a more golden champagne shade. It’s not as creamy and in your face as The Balm’s Mary Loumanizer, which I actually like. I can layer it without it being overly shimmery on the cheeks, and it gives a really pretty but subtle sheen to the cheeks. Overall, I think I’m going to get a lot of use out of this. :D
3. Sleek Au Naturel Palette
I think I’m really starting to favour eyeshadow palettes now, and I absolutely adore this one. I don’t have many matte shades in my collection, so this is really good for me. Again, the shades are really pigmented and pretty. It has a mix of cool and warm tones, and 4 shimmery eyeshadows with 8 matte eyeshadows. The shimmery ones are my favourite because they don’t have chunky glitter and feel a lot more velvety than the matte shades, and they’re more pigmented. Noir could be more black though; it’s kind of like MAC’s Carbon Eyeshadow where it’s more charcoal than black. But then, overall, I’d say this is so worth the money. I wouldn’t say it’s a dupe for any of my Naked Palettes, but for the price, it might be better. I can’t wait to use this!
I have no new thoughts about the formula of these (which you can find here) but I am so disappointed that another nude shade failed me. Complex looked like I put concealer over my lips. :( Maybe if I used a lipliner it could work, but I should have been smart and tried it on my lips instead of the back of my hand. But then, it looked like a lot of the shades I already have and like. :( Oh well, Unapologetic still looked really pretty though. It’s so bright and pink and lovely (although when I wear it, I will tone it down). I’d suggest trying it out on yourself before purchasing. I wish they’d come out with more shades -_-
I originally wanted to purchase their Butter Gloss, but they didn’t have any of the shades I liked. When I saw this and tried it on the back of my hand, I was immediately drawn to it since it was really pretty and didn’t feel sticky or gloopy. But I decided to smell the applicator for some reason and I nearly retched in the store. It smelled horrible! Am I the only one who doesn’t like the smell of fake candy? ‘Cause that’s what it smelled like. I gave in and bought it anyway since it wasn’t too expensive and I just told myself to suck it up. I do think if you can get over the smell, this is a really good buy. I’m thinking about purchasing other shades, but god, I hope it doesn’t smell the same. :(
I also bought a back up of the Revlon Nearly Naked Powder but didn’t feature it here anymore since you guys have seen it before and know my thoughts. I hope you guys enjoyed nonetheless, and I do believe I owe you guys a skincare post. Ugggh, how many more times am I going to say that? -_- I got way too excited and spoke about this instead. Sorry! :D I also have another quick haul coming soon. Exciting!
If you guys have any more recommendations for me, please post them in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you!
