It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here, and it kind of feels weird to be ‘writing’ again.
I’ve been so occupied with school and work lately that I haven’t been able to pretty-fy myself since I’ve been rocking the “Quick and Easy No Makeup Makeup Look” these past few weeks. I mean, I don’t want a full face of makeup since I’m just going to class then heading off to sweaty work in the theatre. Oh, and I was admitted in the hospital for a couple of days so no point in putting on makeup there. Unless there’s a cute doctor or nurse, that is. :D
But, since it was Valentine’s Day ten days ago, I decided to put more effort and made myself look more presentable. I’m only posting this now as this is literally the only free time I’ve gotten since January—and if I did have any free time, it was spent sleeping to make up for the overnight set ups and extended rehearsals.
This makeup look obviously isn’t just for Valentine’s Day, and it can be for any date night I suppose. So here it is:
Smashbox Photofinish Primer
The Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream in 3
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (Dark Circles) in Honey
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 3
Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Medium/Deep
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Natural Beauty
The Balm Betty Loumanizer
Nars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Eyeshadow in Brun
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
MAC Pigment in Naked
NARS Larger than Life Eyeliner in Via Veneto
Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Nude
Maybelline The Rocket Mascara
NYX Lip Liner in Natural
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi
That’s the makeup done. :) I then prepped my hair with Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protectant and curled my hair as usual. I also used Body & Face Thairapy Oil in my hair and loosened the curls. I didn’t end up wearing this shirt on Valentine’s Day, but I did wear a maroon crop top from Cotton On, a denim skater skirt from Topshop, and my ballet flats from Melissa.
I spent the day waltzing around with this look and went to work (with praises from my friends and colleagues! <3 ) and ended up going home late. For the date part of the evening, and since I was craving spaghetti and meatballs, we had dinner at home after buying some pasta from Pizza Hut (it was the only thing open on our way home). I also decided to turn off the lights and lighted a few candles to simulate a candlelit dinner. Tres romantic. :)
Now that I’m on break from work and just have academic requirements to deal with, I do believe I owe you guys a Current Favorites or a What’s in my Makeup Bag post because I have been loving a load of stuff recently and I really want to share it with you guys. (Oh, and to make up for the lack of a December and January Favorites post. Ack!) OH OH! And a haul! I saved up a bit of money and (slightly regrettably) spent money on a few things. :) So, keep your eyes peeled for those. :D
I hope you guys enjoyed this quick post. It’s still the month of love, so I guess I can still call this a Valentine’s Day makeup look. Or maybe Date Night? Hm… But anyway! :D
