American Beauty Haul / What I Got for Christmas 2013

Hello, darlings!

Now that Christmas is over, we’ve finished feasting on glorious food, and I’ve opened most of my presents, I thought it was time to share with you guys Part 2 of my American Beauty Haul. :D

Disclaimer: I’m not trying to show off or brag about what I got for Christmas. I promised you guys a second haul post, and I mentioned that I would most likely receive them as presents. I am extremely grateful to my parents for being extra generous this year, so none of these things were purchased by me.

Image1. Real Techniques Brushes

This includes the Core Collectionthe Starter Set, the Setting Brushand the Blush Brush. I opened them up the moment I got them, and ho-ly mother of mercy! They are the softest and most beautiful brushes EVER! I finally tried them out and they are raved about for a reason! They’re everything I dreamed they would be. They put product on and blend everything so seamlessly. I love how dense the brushes are but they’re still so soft. It makes me so happy to use them, and I’m in love with them already. :)

Image2. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I’ve tried this out already as well, and I like it a lot so far. It really is a basic palette, but it just feels like it’s a lot better than that. It’s also very small and handy, and the colours are very good for any eye look. I wouldn’t say that this is better than the Naked 1 or 2, but for what it is, it’s definitely worth the money.

Image3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (Dark Circles)

Sorry, the one on the right is actually my mom’s. I think we both got confused since they’re almost pretty much the same thing. I haven’t tried this out yet, but I’ve heard good things about this as well, and I’m excited to try this out. I’m afraid that it’s slightly more pink than I want it to be, but I’m not so sure just yet. And besides, it’ll help with brightening under the eyes. :)

Image4. Maybelline Color Tattoo (Metal)

I got the colours Barely Branded and Gold Rush. I’m not so sure I like how ‘in your face’ Gold Rush is, and I already have Bold Gold. I tried Barely Branded and it’s a nice frosty cream colour. I used it as a base for the Naked Basics palette, and I liked the effect.

Image5. L’oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Waterproof

I’m surprised that this is the only mascara I asked for, but I already have tons of other mascaras I have yet to try out anyway. I really liked the Telescopic mascara I used a couple of months ago, and I originally asked for the waterproof version of that one, but my mom picked up the wrong one by accident. I’m actually glad she did though, so that I can try other ones and I heard this one is also very good anyway. :) Now I just have to finish my Benefit They’re Real mascara! :)

Image6. Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner

I’ve tried this already and I’m surprised at how creamy and pigmented this is! I used it to brighten up my eyes and I just let it glide on my waterline. It’s amazing! I wish I had the black one as well, but the nude one is fine for now. I didn’t notice the lasting power though, and if it can compete with my NARS eyeliners, but my first impression of it is good. :)

Image7. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush

I have the colours Exposed, Blushing Bride, and Natural Beauty. The leftmost colour is a matte dusky rose shade, and it’s very natural looking on the cheeks. The middle is a berry-toned blush with gold flecks, but I have yet to try this. The last is a bright pink with gold flecks, but the shimmer doesn’t translate to the skin very much. It also gives a very nice flush. I tried this with the blush brush and I was so happy with the result! It looked so pretty. :”) Lasting power was also very good, and pigmentation is amazing.

Image8. Japonesque Eyelash Curlers

This is actually already in my makeup bag. :D I like it because it’s so small and compact and it curls my lashes very well without crimping my eyelashes or tugging at my eyes. I’m not sure I’m used to how it’s supposed to be used, and I can’t tell just yet if I like it better than the Shu Uemura ones, but I’d say give it a try if you’re looking to try another curler out. I find that it doesn’t get at all of my lashes at once, and I have to curl sections of it at a time, but I don’t mind too much since the result is pretty good. I just have to get used to it, I guess.

IMG_76969. Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude Perfume

I’ve been trying to branch out perfume-wise since I keep going back and forth between my Miss Dior Cherie and Flowerbomb, and this is such a ‘me’ scent. It’s deep and rich-smelling, but I’m not so sure if it’s floral or fruity. All I know is that it smells really nice and very sensuous indeed. I don’t think it lasts very long though, but I probably have to keep testing it out to really tell for sure. I love it so far though! :)

And that is my Christmas haul for this year! I received a bunch of other gifts—gives that I am so very thankful for!—but I don’t want to show those anymore since you guys might not be interested in them since there’s a lot to go through. I am definitely a lucky and very happy girl this year. :)

I will be doing a round up post of my favourite products from this year, so watch out for that one next. :) I hope you guys all had a lovely Christmas! Tell me what your favourite gift was in the comments below. I’d love to hear about them. :)

With love,

Julia
