An English Rose, Embarrassing Friends, and Horror Movies

Hello, darlings!

Today, my friends and I arranged to have lunch together so that we could properly meet our friend’s new guy. Before going to bed the night before, I was looking for inspiration photos for an “English Rose” makeup look… random choice, right? And it’s ironic because I am probably the worst candidate for English Roses. :P I still tried though… :P

This was me and my Korean bestfriend pretending to be lesbian lovers. Well, okay, imitating the new overly attached clingy non-couple.

Okay, so what’s a Julia post without an embarrassing story, so here’s the one for today:

Since high school, in every peer group of mine, they will always make a fuss when they find out I find someone cute or have a huge crush on someone. They get very childish and rowdy with their cheers and jeers when said guy is around. Today, my friends decided to be extra immature. And you know how girls are…

Well, I thought one of the waiters was cute and I kept joking about it as we were eating. We were the only ones upstairs and so we were noisy as hell, and he and another waiter were watching us as we ate and laughed boisterously. After that, I invited them to watch The Conjuring and they agreed, so we asked our friend to go downstairs and ask for the bill. I jokingly said “But make sure it’s the cute waiter.”

When she came back, she was hurriedly chatting away with someone, and we were surprised to see that it was one of the waitresses. Apparently, my friend told her “Miss, can I ask for the bill please? But uh, is it okay the waiter with the retainer gives it to us?” The waitress told us that he couldn’t give it to us since his shift was over and he was already dressed to leave. Then she said, “But let me try.” and then looked at me. I suddenly freaked out and said, “Wait! Don’t! We were just kidding!!” but she was running down the stairs, and what do I do? I RUN AFTER HER! I got downstairs and pretended like nothing happened, and acted like I needed to go to the restroom, but I could feel all the restaurant’s staff looking at me, so I went back upstairs.

You know what happened next? Well, the cute waiter delivered the bill to us… He went running up the stairs in regular clothes and gave us our bill. He was smiling so cheekily and I felt my English-Rose cheeks flush even rosier. And my friends, being the immature teenage college students that they are, kept dropping hints and teasing me even more. I avoided eye contact as much as possible because I’m like that…

We left (grudgingly), and as we were waiting for the car to pull up, I looked back into the restaurant and saw him smiling at me. Damn it. Why did he have to be so cute?! My friends also promised that we would eat there more often… Weeeeeeeeeeee <3 Oh, thank God I didn’t look like a hot mess today!

(Also, if any of you have read my Only Fools Rush In post, this isn’t technically infidelity because he and I aren’t together together. :P)

On the way to the cinema, the lovers were relentlessly holding hands, and my two other friends were being clingy as well. And there I was, forever alone. Hahaha. :)

The Conjuring is a really good movie, by the way! It’s my second time to watch it (the first time was with my mom) so I wasn’t that scared (but the first time, I was screaming my head off!). I really liked it since I hate dolls (although it wasn’t as major a role as I expected), and I appreciated the story line and the acting. It’s based on a true story and it was horrific and very effective! Also, I really liked their choice of actors; they performed sooo well. Definitely a good horror movie if you’re into them. :) Unless you’re my friend who was a total killjoy and kept yawning the whole time. Haha.

A little post-movie photo taking by the cardboard movie posters. I really wanna be an action star some day. Some day!

Oh how embarrassing… Please don’t judge me. :P

What I Wore:

Crop Top – H&M

Camisole – Zara

Skirt – Promod

Belt – Forever 21

Man, it was so great hanging out as a full group again. And a small group of girls can make just as much noise as a room full of people, which is always fun. :) Well, except when they make noise about your having a crush on the waiter… Are your friends just as immature as mine?

With love,

Julia
