The month has finally ended! Where is this year going?! But anyway, I wanted to share with you guys my favorites for this month, although they may already be extremely obvious. :P
1. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm stain in Rendezvous
I’ve probably spoken about this so much, but I’ll say it anyway. I love this product because it stains your lips, and lasts for a really long time. It smells like mint and makes your lips tingly when you first put it on. It’s very moisturizing. It’s also perfect if you’re lazy but you want to look like you put an effort into your makeup. My favorite part is that it really looks like you just finished eating an Orange Popsicle.
2. L’oreal Super Liner Ultra Sharp in Black
This is a repurchase (check out my drugstore haul) because it is honestly the best eyeliner I’ve tried. I don’t think it’s marketed as a waterproof eyeliner, but it is definitely water resistant on me. I’ve cried with this thing on or I wear it all day and there’s absolutely no smudging or any unattractive product transfer. This is a lot better than the L’oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss (the one with the felt tip) because this is a pen version, so it’s easier to use and you have more control. Plus, it doesn’t flake away when you’re trying to build it up. It’s also very black so you always have an intense line.
3. MaxFactor Clump Defy Mascara in Black
Surprise, surprise! :P I wore this all month long, and you guys know it. :P It really does what it says: it is not clumpy at all no matter how much you build it up. It’s not very lengthening, but I think with a good curl, you’ll be fine. The wand is plastic but it doesn’t wiggle too much (unlike some Maybelline mascaras, but I don’t mind it too much) and the bristles really grip at your lashes and it coats them really well. And, the wand is curved so it slightly helps with curling. It’s not a very wet mascara, but it hasn’t dried out just yet, so yay. I will be honest though and say that the only reason that this doesn’t smudge on me is because of my Diorshow Lash Plumping Serum. Without it, I did notice some under-eye smudging which is quite unfortunate.
4. MaxFactor Miracle Touch Cream Blush in Soft Cardinal
Again, another surprise. I’ve also been wearing this non stop because it’s just such an amazing blush and I much prefer it to my Revlon one. The texture is really nice; it’s more of a balm than a cream, and it blends really well. It doesn’t have a cream to powder finish, so it keeps you looking dewey which is also nice. The color is sensational! It’s super pigmented and you can build it up or keep it sheer; you’ll still look super healthy and glowing. It also lasts really well so it doesn’t go all blotchy on your cheeks.
5. NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base
This was just an amazing discovery. I actually stole this off my mom (well, not really stole…) and I’m happy I did because it’s just the best eyeshadow primer I’ve ever used. The texture is very smooth and it disappears into nothing. You put eyeshadow on, and it looks lovely as normal. But then three to five hours later, it still looks the same as when you put it on the first time! My eyeshadow does not crease, nor does it smudge, nor does it fade at all. I have no idea what sorcery this is, but it keeps my eye makeup looking amazing all day.
(Club on top, Right Definer at the bottom)
6. MAC Eyeshadow in Club (bottom) vs. Wet’n’Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Comfort Zone (Right Definer) (top)
I featured the Wet’n’Wild eyeshadow in my Rehab post, and you can check it out to see how amazing it looks on the eyes. I was just really surprised at how much better it looks than Club. And that’s saying a lot because I adore Club. I was probably just drawn by the sheen of the Right Definer, and you can really see the contrast between the blue and the brown when you blend it out. You really get the dung-beetle duo chrome effect better in the Right Definer. Plus, the entire palette is pretty much amazing anyway. I’d recommend getting it because for the price, it’s so worth it.
7. New Girl and How I Met Your Mother Season 8
These two are some of my favorite TV shows of all time, and I watched them simultaneously. I couldn’t get enough of them at all! They’re both so funny and exciting. Well, HIMYM was kind of predictable, but New Girl was just… WOAH! What a twist! And the kiss, OH! It was the best kiss I’ve ever seen in my entire life. <3 (Okay, maybe not, but still!) Guys, if you haven’t started watching this, I suggest you do!
8. And er, a cheeky little bonus…
This was probably the best thing out of this whole month. All our hardwork has paid off, and it’s finally out there. It just feels good to know that someone cares about you, thinks about you a lot and they reciprocate your feelings. I finally have a right to sing happy love songs and be mushy. It feels good to hear you say my name after “I love you.” :)
Well, those are my favorites for this month and I hope you guys enjoyed! I kind of hope the months would pass more slowly, but then I want this year to end so bad! Here’s to a happy August! Comment below what your favorites are, or link me to your post! I’d love to see your favorites as well. :)
